Good Emergency Situation Advice

n an emergency situation.....
This is for you,
and for you to share
with your wife,
your children,
everyone you know.
After reading these 9 crucial tips,
forward them to someone you care about.
It never hurts to be careful
in this crazy world we live in.
1. Tip from Tae Kwon Do :
The elbow is the strongest point
on your body.
If you are close enough to use it, do!
2.. Learned this from a tourist guide.
If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse,
DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM.
Toss it away from you....
Chances are that he is more interested
in your wallet and/or purse than you,
and he will go for the wallet/purse.
RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car,
kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole
and start waving like crazy..
The driver won't see you, but everybody else will.
This has saved lives.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars
after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit
(doing their chequebook, or making a list, etc.
DON'T DO THIS!)
The predator will be watching you, and this
is the perfect opportunity for him to get in
on the passenger side, put a gun to your head,
and tell you where to go.
AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR ,
LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE..

If someone
is in the car
with a gun
to your head
DO NOT DRIVE OFF,
Repeat:
DO NOT DRIVE OFF!
Instead gun the engine
and speed into anything, wrecking the car.
Your Air Bag will save you.
If the person is in the back seat
they will get the worst of it .
As soon as the car crashes
bail out and run.
It is better than having them find your body
in a remote location.
5. A few notes about getting
into your car in a parking lot,
or parking garage:
A.) Be aware:
look around you,
look into your car,
at the passenger side floor ,
and in the back seat
B.) If you are parked next to a big van,
enter your car from the passenger door.
Most serial killers attack their victims
by pulling them into their vans while the women
are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car
parked on the driver's side of your vehicle,
and the passenger side... If a male is sitting alone
in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back
into the mall, or work, and get a
guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)
6. ALWAYS take the elevator
instead of the stairs.
Stairwells are horrible places to be alone
and the perfect crime spot.
This is especially true at NIGHT!)
7. If the predator has a gun
and you are not under his control,
ALWAYS RUN!
The predator will only hit you (a running target)
4 in 100 times; and even then,
it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ.
RUN, Preferably in a zig -zag pattern!
8. As women, we are always trying
to be sympathetic:
STOP
It may get you raped, or killed.
Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking,
well educated man, who ALWAYS played
on the sympathies of unsuspecting women.
He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often
asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehicle,
which is when he abducted
his next victim.
9. Another Safety Point:
Someone just told me that her friend heard
a crying baby on her porch the night before last,
and she called the police because it was late
and she thought it was weird.. The police told her
'Whatever you do, DO NOT
open the door..'
The lady then said that it sounded like the baby
had crawled near a window, and she was worried
that it would crawl to the street and get run over.
The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way,
whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.'
He told her that they think a serial killer
has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax
women out of their homes thinking that someone
dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it,
but have had several calls by women saying that
they hear baby's cries outside their doors
when they're home alone at night.

10. Water scam!
If you wake up in the middle
of the night to hear all your taps outside running or what you think is a
burst pipe, DO NOT GO OUT TO INVESTIGATE! These people turn on all your
outside taps full ball so that you will go out to investigate and
then attack.

Stay alert, keep safe, and look out for your neighbours!
Please pass this on
This e-mail should probably be taken seriously because
the Crying Baby Theory was mentioned on
America 's Most Wanted when they profiled
the serial killer in Louisiana

I'd like you to forward this to all the women you know.
It may save a life. A candle is not dimmed by lighting another candle..
I was going to send this to the ladies only,
but guys, if you love your mothers, wives, sisters, daughters, etc.,
you may want to pass it onto them, as well.

Send this to any woman you know that may need
to be reminded that the world we live in has a lot of crazies in it
and it's better to be safe than sorry..
Everyone should take 5 minutes to read this. It may save your life or love one's life

Balloon Boy: This Is Not News!

It's amazing what we sometimes consider new. CNN and other outlets followed the runaway weather balloon yesterday which was thought to contain the 6 year old son of the the builder of the balloon. Yes, that is a story. However; once it was discovered that all that happened was the boy cut the balloon lose and hid in the attic because he didn't want to get in trouble (a perfectly reasonable reaction by a six year old); it stopped being a story. Why is the father being interviewed by Meredith Viera interviewing the father on Today? Why? because there are so many news outlets out there that anything resembling news becomes news. A kid cut loose a balloon period! I understand the reaction and the desire for the outlets to cover anything that could end badly is, well, "human nature". But how does this stay a story once it comes to light that nothing really happened. Watching the "interview" by Viera was painful to say the least. Viera was implying that this was some sort of publicity stunt in order to promote this prototype weather balloon. Her questions are asked under the guise of "some people would say..." Of course it's her question and an attempt to keep the interviewee from getting hostile with her (didn't work). she also is asked if it's possible if the boy hid because he was scared because his father yelled at him. More inflammatory questions for the sake of getting a reaction out of the father. One may ask why the boys father went on the Today show? I imagine it was to defend himself since he came across very defensive.

This stuff is old. I'd like to see human interest stories treated as just that. Not become lead news stories on a major network because there is some video to support the story. I continue to be unimpressed with Viera as a "journalist". Maybe she should go back to "So You Want To Be A Millionaire". I think her "Talents" will be much more appreciated at that level. As far as the producers of these news shows go; please! At least put some effort into it.

Reduce Cost of New VIA To Go Cup

I have become a big fan of VIA. I'm Thrilled that 'bucks is coming out with a decaf blend. I like the idea of the "to go" cup with the individual slots for the VIA packages. However; I am surprised at the cost of the "to go" cup. The way I see it, the cup, is a "delivery system" for VIA. Why not encourage the 'bucks consumer to buy VIA by offering the to go cup at cost? The reality is the cup is just that; a "delivery system" for the product. Similar to the way printers work today. The actual printer is a lost liter and the revenue is generated on the ink. I know for myself; if the cup was under $10 I would be more apt to buy it. I would then have this very cool cup that would allow me to "load" it with my favorite VIA product. I would be much quicker to buy the large box of VIA and keep the cup with me at work, school, events, etc... Or better yet give the cup away with a $25 purchase of VIA. Really seed the market.

Review of "Couples Retreat"

I saw "Couples Retreat" yesterday in an older not so great theater in SF. Let me first say I'm a big Vince Vaughn & Jon Favreau fan. I also think Jason Bateman has had a well deserved come-back (where did he get his start The Hogans?). I haven't seen much of Faizon Love but with a name like that...come on how bad could he be. I liked the women in the roles. I think Kristen bell is very good and I don't know much about the rest. The dude who played Stanley was awesome! Did he remind anyone else of Christopher Walken?

I give the movie on a whole 2 1/2 stars. It had it's moments. The seen in the plumbing store with the kid taking a leak in the non-functional toilet was pretty funny. The seen when Jason Bateman breaks into Vince Vaughn's house was done well too. I think if the movie would have spend more time with the family dynamic it would have been more interesting. Everything from the point when they get to the island became very predictable. Save "Stanley" who added some interesting twists. I will say the resort was beautiful and I wouldn't mind spending some time there without all the "couple stuff". I think the best seen from the island when the cast was looking for the singles side of the island. The Guitar Hero sequence was amusing, however, the dialogue between "Stanley" and the Vince Vaughn character after the contest was very funny. I liked the relationship with Vince Vaughn and his wife. I thought it really showed what married life is and should be like. The other relationships were to stereotypical for me.

All in all it's worth seeing on a rainy afternoon (at matinee rates) when you have nothing better to do. I would recommend it as a rental.
